Roger A. Chamberlain, 62 of Carmel, Indiana passed away surrounded with love by his wife, Sheryl and his daughter, Ashley on September 13, 2016. He was born December 18, 1953 in Flint, Michigan.

Roger is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Sheryl (Spiegel) Chamberlain, his children Ashley Chamberlain, Christopher Walden (Christina) and Nichole Chamberlain, siblings David Chamberlain (Sue), Sharon Williams (Ken), Deborah Hawkins (Lt. Col. Donald Hawkins) and grandchildren Cooper Hudson and Chloe Walden. Roger was proceeded in death by his parents Clare and Arlene (Dunham) Chamberlain and sister Sandra Kay Chamberlain.

Roger was an avid lover of all things golf, fishing, Colts football, animals and most of all his family and his passion for making others laugh. His humor was witty and his smile was infectious. With his outgoing demeanor, he never met a stranger.

Roger served for two years in the United States Air Force and served 10 years in the Texas Army National Guard.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University.

At the age of 58, Roger was diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia. His family persistently focused on spreading awareness for this debilitating disease while Roger held his passion within his heart and smile. Fundraising for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s was just one way of increasing awareness.

A funeral service will be at noon on Friday, September 16 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Roger will be laid to rest with military honors at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

Donations can be made in Roger’s name to Joy’s House Adult Service (www.joyshouse.org) and/or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).

I am one of Roger’s Foulk cousins. I got to know him much better while he lived in San Antonio. He was very generous and cared deeply about the world we all live in. I loved him and wish I would have had more time with him. See you soon sweet cousin.
